Frequently Asked Question

How Keyword Scan Tool Works?
Last Updated 3 months ago

While Tech Lookup finds websites based on the software they use (e.g., "Show me all Shopify sites"), Keyword Search finds websites based on their actual content, niche, and intent. It allows you to surface prospects based on what they publish and talk about, rather than just what tools they use.

Step 1: Enter a Keyword

Start by entering a keyword, topic, niche, or search intent into the search bar (e.g., “AI tools”, “fitness blogs”, “B2B SaaS”). Click the Search button to discover websites whose content closely matches your input.

Keyword Strategy Insight

  • Long-tail keywords (more specific phrases) typically return fewer but highly targeted results.
  • Short or popular keywords usually return a larger volume of broader results.

Using a mix of both helps balance discovery and precision.

Step 2: Apply Advanced Filters

Refine your results using built-in filtering options to narrow down high-quality matches:

  • Popularity Rank – Identify websites based on their relative traffic and visibility.
  • Country – Filter results by geographic location to target specific markets.
  • Technology – Narrow results based on technologies used by the websites.
  • Relevance Score (10–100) – Control how closely results match your keyword.
    • Use Min Relevance Score to set a threshold.
    • Higher scores indicate stronger keyword alignment and intent match but fewer results.

After configuring filters, click Apply Filters to update your results.

Step 3: Download Dataset

After refining your results, you can export the dataset using the Download option.

  • Each dataset download consumes 1 credit.
  • The exported list is structured and ready for use for whatever purpose you need them for.
  • You can perform unlimited searches and filtering before deciding to download.
  • You're not allowed to rebuild reports like Tech Lookup for Keyword Scan tool.
  • Searching for "same" keyword will consume credit each time you download the list.

What You Can Achieve (Use Cases)

  • Discover websites based on content, intent, and niche alignment
  • Build high-intent prospect lists for outreach
  • Segment markets by relevance, popularity, geography, and technology
